Oral Medicine, or Dental Medicine, Maxillofacial Medicine and Stomatology Specializes in dentistry focused on the mouth and surrounding structures which makes a bridge between medicine and dentistry. It has two significant fields: 1. Diagnosis, identification and treatment of diseases of the oral mucosa, salivary glands, temporomandibular joint, 2. Dental treatment for patients with underlying systemic diseases is based on special protocols and considerations on an outpatient or under anesthesia. Clinical diagnosis, pharmacological management, non-surgical and minor surgeries are the injuries that affect the oral-pink area, is the responsibility of specialists of this field.
