Food Safety Research Center (Salt) is located in the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science in Aradan. The center has laboratories for microbiology and food chemistry. It currently has sixteen full-time members and one part-time member. The center is able to approve and carry out research projects based on specified research priorities.

Food Safety Research Center (SALT) of SEMUMS was given the principled approval in 253rd session of the Council for Development of Medical Universities in 15 May 2016.
