Expert of Infection Control of MH

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying the sources of hospital infections through research and study
  • Applying the results of new research and studies in caring for the prevention and control of hospital infections
  • Collaborating in the development and implementation of training programs for nursing staff, students, clients and other staff if, necessary in order to prevent and control infection with the cooperation of the educational supervisor
  • Participating in sessions and training courses on infection control for nursing staff.
  • Adjusting vaccination schedule for hospital staff according to national schedules
  • Assessing educational needs of hospital staff in the field of hospital infections and following up educational effectiveness
  • Evaluating the tools and equipment needed to control dangerous infections and providing appropriate solutions to the Infection Control Committee
  • Visiting different hospital wards according to the calendar to discover new hospital infections, following up on past cases through laboratory results and clinical signs, recording new cases in the software, and providing the necessary reports.
  • Preparing and compiling infection control instructions in special wards and other vulnerable wards based on care standards in cooperation with the Infection Control Committee
  • Monitoring and evaluating the rules and regulations recommended by the relevant ministry, the University Infection Control Committee and the Hospital Infection Control Committee, and reporting the results to the relevant committee
  • Supervising and assisting in the isolation of infectious patients according to the policies of the Infection Control Committee and the available facilities
  • Participating in Infection Control Committee meetings to provide information and reports, and receiving executive instructions
  • Monitoring the observance of hand hygiene according to the protocol approved by the Ministry of Health, measuring the observance of hand hygiene by staff and doctors
  • Managing employees' exposure to occupational hazards
  • Controlling protective coverings of service and medical staff, including nursing and paramedical staff
  • Collaborating in controlling crop results and assessing antibiotic resistance
  • Performing audits of accreditation measures to control infection and cooperating in its implementation
  • Monitoring and controlling professional behavior of supervised employees continuously
  • Identifying and managing hospital infection outbreaks rapidly
  • Evaluating new products used in treatment in terms of infection control and approving or rejecting the purchase of these products
  • Providing a budget proposal to the nursing manager about the needs, and prioritizing them for the implementation of nursing programs
  • Collaborating with the nursing manager in setting and formulating short-term, medium-term and long-term goals
  • Participating in the continuous evaluation of nursing and midwifery staff according to performance, professional and ethical behaviors
  • Monitoring the segregation of medical waste
  • Providing periodic reports to superior authority
  • Participating in programs of hospital visit and evaluation
