Responsibilities:
- Reception and delivery of patients and patient documents
- Monitoring the patient's vital systems completely, including vital signs, heart-respiratory-central and peripheral nerves, recording them and reporting abnormal cases.
- Conducting necessary physical examinations, recording them and reporting abnormal cases
- Determining the level of consciousness and checking the GCS
- Maintaining and taking care of the airway, ventilation, oxygenation and intubation in necessary cases
- Teaching and encouraging the client to cough and breathe deeply
- Sampling arterial blood and other body secretions according to the doctor's opinion
- Checking the routine tests and reporting the necessary cases to the doctor
- Planning, implementing and evaluating a complete skin care program
- Taking care of patients with sensorimotor disorders in order to diagnose and prevent immobility complications
- Examining the client on how to use artificial devices, prostheses and aids
- Regulating and controlling the operation of medical devices and equipment used for the patient
- Cooperating with the treatment team in carrying out diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation processes
- Carrying out the process of feeding the patient through digestive tubes and T.P.N
- Adjusting and controlling ventilator parameters according to the patient's breathing condition
- Implementing the principles of care and cooperating in separating the patient from the ventilator, removing the tracheal tube, according to the doctor's opinion, performing oxygen therapy according to the patient's condition
- Cardiac monitoring, diagnosis of various dysrhythmias, informing the doctor if necessary and taking immediate measures in case of dangerous dysrhythmias.
- Adjusting and using the DC shock device in necessary cases
- Providing psychological support to patients and their families.
- Suctioning airway secretions through oral and tracheostomy tubes, orotracheal, nasotracheal
- Evaluating NGT, chest tube, Foley probe, pacemaker, endotracheal tube and all kinds of drains, recording and reporting of abnormal cases
- Controlling central venous pressure (C.V.P) and setting the flow rate of the required drugs according to the doctor's prescription.
- Carrying out necessary measures to prevent hospital infections (education and research)
- Calming the physical environment, controlling temperature and light, ambient noise and other environmental factors and providing rest conditions for the patient to relax
- Adjusting the amount of sensory stimuli in order to enhance the patient's senses
There are 6 beds in this ward. Technical official of the ward is an internist. Also there a central monitoring device and each bed is equipped with special care devices.
