Study Leave and Dropout

 

Study Leave:

 

Article 33: After passing a semester, a student of the associate degree and discontinuous undergraduate degree can take the supplementary leave for a maximum of 1 semester and a student of continuous undergraduate degree can take study leave for 2 alternate semesters.

Students of nightly course can take study leave for a maximum of 2 semesters in each of the associate degree and discontinuous undergraduate degree. Students of continuous undergraduate degree can take study leave for maximum of 3 alternate semesters.

 

Note 1: The Educational Council of the university must approve the study leave of a student.

Note 2: The period of study leave is considered as the maximum permitted periods of student education in each degree.

 

Article 34: The application for study leave must be submitted in writing by the student to the Department of Educational Affairs of University at least two weeks before the start of enrollment in each semester.

 

Note 1: If the application for study leave is submitted outside the prescribed time, the Educational Council of university is responsible for taking decision.

Note 2: The Department of Educational Affairs of the university is obliged to notify the student its approval or disapproval of the application in writing after obtaining the opinion of the relevant faculty before the registration deadline.

Note 3: the student is responsible for the consequences of study leave.

 

Article 35: According to the approval of the forty ninth session of the High Council of Medical Sciences Planning in 2012/22/10, maternity leave for students of associate, discontinuous and continuous undergraduate, general doctorate of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy increases from 1 semester to 2 semesters. This approval will be implemented since the September 2012.  Students who are on maternity leave at the time of notification of this approval are also subject to it.

 

Article 36: Students whose medical certificate and excuse have been approved by the Medical Council and the Educational Council of University can use a maximum of one semester of supplementary leave without taking into account as the allowed years of education.

 

Study leave of a spouse of a scholarship student and a spouse of government employee:

 

Article 37: A student who is sent abroad as a spouse of a government employee or the spouse of a scholarship student can use the allowed study leave and another four years without taking into account as allowed years of education by submitting a spouse mission assignment and at the discretion of the Educational Council of University.

 

Dropout:

 

Article 38: A student who wishes to drop out of school must submit his or her dropout request in person to Department of Educational Affairs of university or faculties. This student is allowed to withdraw his / her dropout request only once, up to one month before the end of the same semester. After the expiration of this period, an order of his/ her dropout will be issued and after that he/ she is not allowed to continue his/ her studies in that field.

 

Note: If a dropout student wants to receive his / her degree, he / she is obliged to fulfill all the legal obligations of his / her study period.

 

Appendices: The period of study leave with or without taking into account as academic years is not considered as free education obligations. It should be noted that the period of study leave, taking into account as the academic years, is considered only in the number of semesters of the study period.
