Removing lymph nodes using a Gamma Probe at Kosar Hospital

The surgery to remove the lymph node in a patient with cancer was successfully performed on Saturday 28^th January 2023 at Kosar Hospital.

The scout lymph node was removed from the 50-year-old patient's armpit who suffers from Breast Cancer using a gamma probe.

Dr. Soltani- General Surgeon Specialist- said:  This device guides the surgeon in cancer surgeries like a light in the dark, and it marks the range of penetration and spread of cancer cells in the patient's body using atomic materials.

She added: This operation minimizes the side effects of armpit gland surgery.
