The Second International Congress on Sports Nutrition and the Sixth Annual Research Conference of SEMUMS

Public relations of Semnan University of Medical Sciences: The Second International Congress on Sports Nutrition and the Sixth Annual Research Conference of SEMUMS were held as a webinar on Wednesday and Thursday, November 11th and 12th in the Imam Javad Hall of the Central Headquarters of SEMUMS.

Dr. Danaei, the Chancellor of SEMUMS, appreciated the support of Dr. Malekzadeh, Deputy Minister of Research and Technology, Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education in holding this conference at SEMUMS. He stated: The activity of this important scientific research event has been performing during one and half a year, since the call for papers was submitted to the SEMUMS.

Dr. Kokhaei, Vice Chancellor of Research and Technology of the SEMUMS said: Nutrition and food industry, basic and clinical sciences of medicine, rehabilitation, health and epidemiology, nursing and midwifery, paramedical, management of health services, dental sciences, and oral health are the focus of the university's sixth annual conference.

He said: "Among the articles sent to the secretariat of this conference, 292 articles were accepted and the number of accepted articles in the form of lectures is 48 articles and the number of accepted articles in the poster section is 244."

He acknowledged: Nutrition and Health of Athletes, Nutrition and Performance of Athletes, Sports Supplements, Nutrition in Rehabilitation and Recovery of Sports Injuries, Nutrition in Strength, Endurance, Team and Water Sports, and Sports Nutrition in Special groups (children, women and the physically disabled) are the focus of this congress.

He continued: The total number of articles sent to the congress site is 224 articles, the total number of accepted articles (ORAL) is 46 articles, the number of main speeches (invited) is 10 panels and 42 articles, articles accepted as posters are 156 articles

Dr. Homami, Dean of the School of Nutrition and Food Science, added: "Nutritional interventions increase the resistance and immunity of people against Covid19, reduce the damage caused by Covid19, and accelerate the recovery process of the disease.

• Dr. Ziauddin Mosaferi, Dr. Nafiseh Shokri, Dr. Farnaz Shahdadian and Dr. Hamed Mohammadi were top speakers of the Congress.
• Marzieh Nejati, Atieh Gholizadeh Moghadam, Zahra Danaei, Seyed Morteza Seyed Shouri and Mahsima Jaripour had top posters of the congress.
• Dr. Samaneh Arab, Dr. Atefeh Aminianfar, Dr. Farangis Rahimi, Maryam Abdollahi and Pouya Sarabi were top speakers of the conference
• Zahra Zamani, Mohadeseh Saffari, Marzieh Belji Kangarloo, Hadith Tajli and Elahe Sabbaghian had top posters of the conference.
• Dr. Majid Mir Mohammadkhani was top judge of the faculty.
• Mohammad Hassan was top judge of Student section.
